I started Rocheport Times in October 2022: a website for Rocheport, Missouri, the small town on the Missouri River where I live. The paper’s own masthead called it “Est. 1868, Re-Est. 2022,” reviving the name of the town’s 19th-century newspaper. I wrote and photographed nearly every post myself, under a byline that just says Roman Clarkson: town elections, Board of Alderpersons meetings, the Historic Preservation Commission, local events, and my own build-up to paddling the MR340 solo in 2024, in posts like “148 Days till the MR340 race.” The site also carried a business directory, an events calendar, and pages for municipal government, utilities and parking. The footer credit, “© 2022–2023 Dandi Noble, LLC,” is my own company, the same one that appears in the platform’s code today.
That original site, built on WordPress with Elementor, Toolset and Jetpack, ran with the same design from 2022 through 2025; the news posts slowed after early 2024, but the site itself stayed up. In July 2026 I started rebuilding it: the plugin of 81 modules, the newsroom MCP connector and the MR340 tracker. The paper had been running almost four years by then.
