From October 1996 to July 2000 I served in the US Army, 82d Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, as a legal specialist (71D1P). I also became the network and computer support for the division’s Office of the Staff Judge Advocate (OSJA), and part of that was building the office’s first website.
I built it in 1999 and 2000. The earliest copy the Internet Archive holds is from September 18, 2000, just after I left, a FrontPage 4.0 site titled “The All American OSJA,” with pages for Administrative Law, Criminal Law, Legal Assistance, Operational Law, and Trial Defense Services. The page footer reads “This page was last updated on 04/28/00” and its “Webmaster” link goes to my Fort Bragg mail account, under the same “clarksonr” username I used later at Intelligent Network Outfitters. That puts the last edit inside my tour, before the September capture.
The Wayback Machine has no earlier capture of bragg.army.mil/82sja/, which fits: this was the first version of the site.
