City of Experts, LLC (COE) was a Saint Louis, Missouri-based online directory connecting businesses and organizations with local subject-matter experts (speakers, consultants and specialists) for hire. The site described itself as “a catalyst between Experts and Searchers,” offering expert search, direct mail, and e-newsletter tools. I designed and built the site.
The domain sat as a parked “under construction” page through most of 2003; the real site launched in December 2003, built in Dreamweaver MX / Fireworks MX. By 2004 the footer carried a “This site is Powered By [INO]” badge linking to ino-it.com, Intelligent Network Outfitters, my own IT services company (it has its own entry on the Work page), and that credit remained through the 2005 and 2006 redesigns. The layout stayed within the same Dreamweaver table-based template family across 2004–2006, widening from 774px to 839px by mid-2006.
