155 commits to Bow & Bridge from Mon 31 Aug to Fri 4 Sep 2026. Two threads. First, the pipeline got a front door: before a scanned volume is mined, a sample of its pages is read, profiled and judged against a rule table, so a book that isn’t actually about makers never enters the queue. Second, the public site was rewritten for a general reader (plain prose, a searchable maker index, a live progress page) instead of for me.
Pipeline figures for the week: 4,554 pages read, 62 volumes unlocked, 71 records published and 2,191 corrections added.
- Built the admission door: a volume is sampled, profiled and given a rule-table verdict before any mining; the miner, the prose stage and the import step all refuse a volume the door has not admitted.
- Rewrote every public page and template string for a general reader, rebuilt the maker index around search with a random cut of 18 records, and added a public /progress/ page that counts the pipeline stage by stage from a snapshot.
- Closed every code path that could mint a second live record for the same name, then restored 177 merges that an August rebuild had silently undone.
- Withdrew 99 claims a verifier had attested onto the wrong record, and culled 205 accepted rows plus 117 drafts that today’s miner would refuse.
- Added two hand levers for myself: ‘fetch this book next’, which now steers reading order as well as fetching, and a status command that reports honestly what is running.
- Documented all 66 build scripts with a fixed header block and a generated code map, guarded so a new script without one fails the suite; hard deletes of maker, dealer and source records now refuse.
